ST ANDREWS & NORTH EAST FIFE GOLF TOURS

We have picked these five courses as they represent some of the best golf courses in Scotland. You will play both old and new course layouts that provide very different golfing experiences.

We have balanced our course selection to provide both a challenge and, more importantly, enjoyment. You will play Links courses over 120 years old in Panmure and Carnoustie, and the more recent trio of new links, The Castle Course, Dumbarnie and the world-class Kingsbarns.

We have enjoyed all of these courses and can assure you that the golf, facilities and hospitality are all first class.

Links golf represents less than 1% of the 38864* courses in the world.  *R&A Golf Around the World.

Castle Course St. Andrews Golf Course

THE CASTLE COURSE ST ANDREWS

This golf Links was laid out on a hilltop at Kinkell Braes just to the south of the town, bordering more than a mile of waterfront with stunning views back over St Andrews.

There are many excellent holes on this very well designed course. In our opinion the long par three 17th is the feature hole, teeing off on the edge of the cliffs over a ravine and frequently into the prevailing wind, it is a superb test of nerve and club selection.

The clubhouse is modern and you will enjoy a genuine welcome - if you have a morning tee time, do arrive early and have breakfast, they are superb.

Dumbarnie Golf Links Course View

DUMBARNIE GOLF LINKS

There is such a varied mix of design which really makes Dumbarnie Golf Links a wonderful experience. Elevated tees, soft contours, unusually designed bunkers, water hazards and great greens with run-off areas that allow for recovery shots.

It is a design that challenges, makes you think about shot and club selection but doesn’t ruin your round with the odd badly placed or overhit approach shot.

Another excellent new generation clubhouse experience, welcoming, relaxed with friendly staff and excellent hospitality.

The quality of this course and its layout is perhaps best underpinned by the Women’s Scottish Open selecting Dumbarnie, less than a year after the course opened, to host their 2021 tournament.

Kingsbarns Golf Links - 12th Green View

KINGSBARNS GOLF LINKS

Kingsbarns is the co-host, along with Carnoustie and The Old Course, of the annual Alfred Dunhill Links Championship on the European Tour.

Stunning design and classic links playing along the Fife coast. There are so many great golf holes including the beautiful par 3 15th, however the 12th is arguably one of the finest par 5’s we have ever played.

The guest experience is informal, relaxed and the clubhouse team will make you feel very welcome, great facilities, food and service.

It is a wonderful golfing Links recognised as the 43rd best course in the world.

CARNOUSTIE CHAMPIONSHIP COURSE

Carnoustie golf Links is one of the most famous courses in the world and regarded by many of the top pro’s as the hardest course on The Open circuit. It also boasts one of the finest inward nine in championship golf.

There are so many memorable holes, however the par five 6th “Hogan’s Alley” is exceptional.

This course will stay in your memory for a long time.

Carnoustie ranks as 28th best in the world.

PANMURE GOLF CLUB

Panmure Golf Club is one of the oldest clubs in the world dating back to 1845.

When The Open is played next door at Carnoustie, Panmure is used as the final qualifying course, so it has an unquestionable pedigree.

Classic out and back routing with superb fairways and greens. The green-keeping here is exceptional.

The Clubhouse is relaxed and welcoming with comfortable lounges and traditional Scottish hospitality.

The design of the clubhouse reflects the architectural styling of the Royal Calcutta Clubhouse in India.
